State Board of Education Postpones February Meeting Until Next Week

For Immediate Release: February 17, 2021 

WHO: Mississippi State Board of Education (SBE) 

WHAT: The SBE is postponing its February 18 meeting until next week. Severe weather and power outages are preventing attendees from participating in the meeting.

WHEN: SBE’s February meeting will be rescheduled during the week of February 22. The new date will be announced once it has been confirmed.

 

Mississippi Students Selected as Candidates for U.S. Presidential Scholars

JACKSON, Miss. – The 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program selected 86 Mississippi students as candidates for the national award.   

Students who have been selected as candidates have an opportunity to become a U.S. Presidential Scholar.  The scholars represent excellence in education and the promise of greatness in young people.

JACKSON, Miss. – Six schools in Mississippi have earned the College Board AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for achieving high female representation in AP Computer Science A (CSA) and/or AP Computer Science Principles (CSP). Schools honored with the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have expanded girls’ access in AP computer science courses.
