MDE Announces School Districts Approved for Computer Science Pilot Program

JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) announced today that 21 school districts have been approved to participate in the third year of the computer science pilot program (CS4MS).
The following districts have been approved to participate in the pilot:

Mississippi Students Selected as Candidates for U.S. Presidential Scholars

JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi currently has seventy-eight (78) students that have been selected as candidates for the 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
Students that have been selected as candidates have an opportunity to be become one of the 161 U.S. Presidential Scholars. The scholars represent excellence in education and the promise of greatness in young people.
Training Location for 2018 Summer Food Program Changed

JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) will host an informational training session on the 2018 Summer Food Service Program on Feb. 15 in Rosedale, a change from the previous location in Greenwood.
MDE is seeking sponsors to operate the 2018 Summer Food Service Program in counties across the state. This program is administered by the MDE Office of Child Nutrition (OCN).
