All students should have the opportunity to learn. But learning is difficult when students are absent or distracted by illness, unhealthy behaviors, or hazardous situations. Health Education must be a collaborative process between family, school, and community. The goal is to empower students to get, interpret, and use basic health information and develop needed skills to enhance their individual wellbeing. Health Education focuses on the health and wellness of students. It works best as an integral and consistent part of the total school program, beginning while children are young and continuing as they grow, to help them establish a lifelong pattern of healthy choices.
