{"id":3822,"date":"2026-01-06T11:30:02","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T17:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mdek12.org\/communications\/?p=3822"},"modified":"2026-01-07T09:39:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T15:39:18","slug":"state-superintendents-2024-25-annual-report-highlights-a-year-of-historic-progress-achievements-in-public-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdek12.org\/communications\/2026\/01\/06\/state-superintendents-2024-25-annual-report-highlights-a-year-of-historic-progress-achievements-in-public-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"State Superintendent\u2019s 2024-25 Annual Report highlights a year of historic progress, achievements in public schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NEWS RELEASE<br \/>\n<\/strong>For Immediate Release: \u00a0January 6, 2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>State Superintendent\u2019s 2024-25 Annual Report highlights a year of historic progress, achievements in public schools<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3823 aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2026\/01\/OCGR-AnnualReport-News-2025-1217-JC-v01_1.png\" alt=\"Superintendent\u2019s 2024-25 Annual Report\" width=\"630\" height=\"354\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2026\/01\/OCGR-AnnualReport-News-2025-1217-JC-v01_1.png 630w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2026\/01\/OCGR-AnnualReport-News-2025-1217-JC-v01_1-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>JACKSON, Miss. \u2013 The Mississippi Department of Education has released its 2024-25 Superintendent\u2019s Annual Report, which covers a year of historic progress of the state\u2019s public education system as well as national recognition of achievements.<\/p>\n<p>Report highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An increase in the overall pass rates for all end-of-course assessments<\/li>\n<li>A record high 77.3% of third-graders passing the third-grade reading assessment on the first attempt<\/li>\n<li>Statewide graduation rate of 89.2%<\/li>\n<li>Students took 16,145 Advanced Placement exams, with a record high of 9,155 Advanced Placement exams earning a qualifying score.<\/li>\n<li>25,917 students earned ACT National Career Readiness Certificates in 2024-25 for their performance on the ACT WorkKeys.<\/li>\n<li>96.3% of students who took Dual Credit or Dual Enrollment courses passed their courses and earned college credit in 2025.<\/li>\n<li>High-quality pre-K programs included 40 Early Learning Collaboratives and an increase of 33 State-Invested Pre-K programs.<\/li>\n<li>$2.9 million in state funds awarded to nine Institutions of Higher Education to expand the Mississippi Teacher Residency program.<\/li>\n<li>Mississippi ranked 16th nationally in the 2025 Annie E.
