Mississippi Recipes for Success is a dynamic resource. The recipes included in the database are based on tested recipes approved by the Mississippi Recipes for Success Task Force. The purpose of this page is for child nutrition professionals from around the state to help us assess new recipes, improve them, and determine if they are suitable for our Child Nutrition Programs.
As new recipes are introduced, some food items may not be on the MS Child Nutrition Programs Purchasing Order Guide. The Mississippi Automated Food Purchasing System (MAPS) website allows participants to purchase both contract and non-contract items. The contract items have been selected through a solicitation of competitive bids and awarded to the most responsive lowest bidder. Ordering of non-contract items is available as a convenience to participating organizations.
The non-contract items have not gone through a procurement process. It is the purchasing organization’s responsibility, when purchasing non-contract items, to satisfy the procurement requirements listed in the Procurement Plan approved by their organization.
The recipes that are currently being tested are listed below. Please print the .pdf of the recipes and test it in your child nutrition kitchen. We request that you use the evaluation form created for the test recipe assessment. The evaluation is a fillable .pdf and can be completed on your computer or device, you may also wish to print the evaluation form to use as a guide while you and your staff test the recipes.
Please return the completed form and any pictures to mrshelp@mdek12.org .
