Learning Guidance (in online folder)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mdek12.org\/secondaryeducation\/counseling-and-support-services\/\">Individual Success Plan (ISP) Resources<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mdek12.org\/secondaryeducation\/counseling-and-support-services\/\">College and Career Readiness Resources<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdek12.org\/sites\/default\/files\/Offices\/MDE\/OAE\/SEC\/Counseling\/2020-2021_ms_career_development_resource_document-final.pdf\">MDE Career Development Resource href=\"https:\/\/www.rcu.msstate.edu\/\">Mississippi State University Research and Curriculum Unit (RCU)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Some Suggested Strategies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mdek12.org\/secondaryeducation\/counseling-and-support-services\/\">Individual Success Plan<\/a>\u00a0(ISP)\u00a0in Grade\u00a07\u00a0under the supervision of the student\u2019s advisor, school counselor, or career coach and update\/revisit annually.<\/li>\n<li>Introduce\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mdek12.org\/secondaryeducation\/diploma\/\">MS\u00a0School\u00a0Diploma\u00a0and Endorsement\u00a0Options<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Utilize MDE Career Development and Exploration Resources<\/li>\n<li>Visit the local CTE center or comprehensive high school (in person or virtually) to explore secondary course offerings<\/li>\n<li>Visit a local community college to explore and\u00a0participate\u00a0in hands-on activities<\/li>\n<li>Attend a career discovery expo in your workforce region<\/li>\n<li>Invite business and industry guest speakers to discuss career options<\/li>\n<li>Conduct simplified mock interviews<\/li>\n<li>Embed career exploration activities in the core and elective curriculum through a career-focused education<\/li>\n<li>Focus on each career cluster in a specific subject<\/li>\n<li>Continue involvement in community-based programs and\/or organizations\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/ja.org\/ja-mississippi\/ja-for-mississippi?authuser=0\">Junior Achievement,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/code.org\/\">Code.org<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/extension.msstate.edu\/4-h\">4-H<\/a>, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development)<\/li>\n<li>Plan job shadowing opportunities for students<\/li>\n<li>Encourage students to\u00a0identify\u00a0personal traits and characteristics that may later link to career interests<\/li>\n<li>Explore and model leadership and character traits (study skills, time management, self-advocacy, public speaking)<\/li>\n<li>Incorporate employability skills and work ethics (teamwork skills, project planning, self-assessment, critical thinking skills, technological literacy, conflict resolution, etc.) into curriculum and lesson plans<\/li>\n<li>Prepare students to transition to high school<\/li>\n<li>Discuss earning college credit in high school (dual enrollment,
