Data Governance

Data Governance

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is committed to treating data as a critical asset and to implementing agency-wide data governance through policies, processes, and best practices.  The MDE is dedicated to ensuring the privacy, security, and accuracy of data in conjunction with enabling the use of that data to improve student outcomes.

Data Governance Committee

The Data Governance Committee (DGC) includes representatives from across the agency. The Committee members work collectively to seek insight from its data collections, assist school districts with maintaining accurate information, reach data-driven decisions that impact the MS Board of Education Strategic Plan, facilitate its state and federal reporting requirements, and maintain the privacy and security of our student and personnel data.
