Marketing
The Marketing program provides instruction in marketing skills and related sales operations. Courses in the program provide a foundation of skills and knowledge related to basic principles of marketing and related economic fundamentals, management, merchandising, and human relations.
These programs include competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, of an individual. Mississippi's goal is to ensure that all students are provided opportunities to learn, apply, and integrate marketing principles in a dynamic, global economy through the delivery of a quality marketing-based curriculum.
Personal Finance content from the Business Fundamentals Curriculum was aligned to the 2004 Mississippi Personal Finance Framework Revised Academic Benchmarks. Upon the completion of this program, students will earn 1/2 Personal Finance credit that can be used for graduation requirements. The Business Fundamentals Curriculum Framework includes Economics content aligned to the 2004 Mississippi Economics Framework Revised Academic Benchmarks. Upon completion of this program, students will earn 1/2 Economics credit to meet graduation requirements.
